Is it possible to link a particular portion of text to another page in the
same file? In the hyperlink option, there is a field to link it to headings,
but I am unable to do so. To make a link to go to top is possible. But when I
click on the heading, the Ok button is not highlighted. I have to make a book
with chapters. So that if you click on a chapter's title, it will take you
directly to that chapter.
Please help me as soon as possible.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Go to the page where "Chapter 1" starts,
Select the title on that page,
Insert menu > Bookmark... Add a bookmark, let say "Chapter_1",
Go the page where you have the list of chapter titles/headings,
Select the heading for chapter 1 in that list,
Do CTRL-K to get to the Hyperlink dialog,
Click on the Bookmark button,
Select "Chapter_1",
Click on OK.
Repeat for all the link you want to create.

Or, if you use Word's built-in heading Styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.)
when you click on the Bookmark button, select the heading you want, Word
will insert the bookmark automatically when it creates the Hyperlink. But
for these to work, you have to use Word's built-in heading styles.
